WGM Honours and Recognizes National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Toronto, ON - Watts, Griffis and McOuat Ltd. (“WGM”), along with the broader Canadian mining sector, recognizes and honours the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, 2026. We encourage all Canadians to take a moment for reflection and learning, acknowledging the harms and injustices experienced by Indigenous Peoples and the lasting impacts of the residential school system.

WGM has worked alongside many First Nations individuals and communities across Canada and has listened to and learned from Indigenous perspectives, experiences, and knowledge. Through these relationships, we have gained a deeper understanding of both the historical legacy of suffering and the ongoing challenges faced by Indigenous Peoples today. We believe that meaningful reconciliation requires accountability, respect, and a shared commitment to fostering understanding, inclusion, and equality.

WGM is committed to working with Indigenous Peoples and communities to advance reconciliation and to ensure that our mining operations and communities are inclusive, safe, and sustainableAs Canadians, we all have a role to play in advancing Truth and Reconciliation. We encourage everyone to take time on September 30 to listen to Indigenous voices, learn about Indigenous histories and cultures, and reflect on the actions we can take to support reconciliation in our communities and workplaces.
